adminoh yeah! This week I have had a craving for chocolate cookies, brownies, cakes- well, you get the idea. One of my favorite all time cookies is a Chocolate covered cherry cookie but I have only ever made it at Christmas-time. As I was day dreaming about that cookie- I thought I would experiment and make something that I have never made before, but something that reminded me of my favorite Christmas cookie. I have always liked the Italian Amarena cherry, but surprisingly have never cooked with it! Every time I am roaming around inside a Williams Sonoma store I see the beautiful jar ( I am also a sucker for all kinds of blue and white pottery!) I am tempted to add it to my cart. They are a bit pricey!
Back to Brownies—I wanted to make a spruced up brownie. A brownie that was so good that a small square of this culinary delight would be elegant enough to serve for a special dessert. Ah ha! A brownie made to taste like a slice of Black Forest Cake and made with these undeniable special cherries!
I have to admit that as I was putting this together, I ate about 10 cherries along the way! They are addicting! Love the sour cherry flavor!
As I have said before, baking is therapy for me. I find it relaxing and creative. I like to take my time, enjoying the flavors and smells along the way!
