End of summer, beginning of Fall- the blackberries are so plentiful and look so juicy that it inspired me to make a very simple blackberry pie. I wanted to experiment with different ways to make a lattice type of crust. I have been wanting to make a crust of braids for some time and decided today is the day. I rolled out the basic crust very thin, so that when the 3 strips were braided together, it wouldn’t be a giant blob of pie dough. I really liked the end result. The pie was a nice light (without the ice cream) dessert, a lot of fruit, not a lot of crust. The color of the berries is just beautiful! So very simple, but simply delicious!!!
